For the love of art” is much more than just the name of their annual show to the members of the Star Harbor Watercolor Society. Seven years ago a few friends got together to dabble in watercoloring. Now, the Star Harbor
Watercolor Society has grown to 30 members, some of whom enter their work in art shows and show in Texas galleries.

SHWS meets for weekly painting sessions as well as hosting monthly demonstrations, some by invited guest artists from around the country. There is a full calendar of events fulfilling the purpose “to develop the education of its members and stimulate the public interest in watercolor by sponsoring exhibits."

Anyone who wants to join the group is welcome.  Prospective members are not expected to be accomplished artists, just to share the “love of art.”  The group is also open to people who don't want to paint but are just interested in art.

Come and paint with us on any Friday starting a 9:30 a.m. at Star Harbor City Hall, 99 Sunset Blvd., Star Harbor, TX 75148. For more information call 903.489.0091 or email starharborws@gmail.com.
